Classic Elegance: Introducing the BMW R nineT 100 Years

The BMW boxer engine has a rich history that spans a century. It first appeared in the very first BMW motorcycle, the R 32, in 1923. To celebrate the engine’s 100th anniversary, BMW Motorrad has unveiled two special editions for its Heritage range: the R nineT Roadster and the R 18 Cruiser. Both models are limited to 1,923 units each.

One of these special editions is the BMW R nineT 100 Year, which pays homage to the classic BMW oldtimers with its monochrome aesthetic. The R nineT has been a popular choice among riders since its launch in 2014. It has gained a large fan base and has become known for its customizability.

While the air/oil-cooled boxer engine remains unchanged on the R nineT 100 Years version, the rest of the bike has received stylish upgrades. The most noticeable upgrade is the new tank design, featuring a stunning ‘Classic Chrome’ finish. BMW Motorrad has revived the ‘paint on chrome’ effect using the latest Chromium III technology, resulting in a durable and mirror-like shine.

Other enhancements on the R nineT 100 Years include deep Avus Black paint, blacked-out fork tubes and air intake, black anodized rims, and a range of black milled parts. BMW has also added adjustable hand levers, upgraded footrests, and various Shadow II upgrades for added style and comfort. The bike is equipped with cutting-edge features such as an adaptive turning headlight, heated grips, cruise control, and extra riding modes. For added security, an anti-theft alarm system can be added.

The BMW R nineT 100 Years exemplifies understated elegance and classy aesthetics. With a limited production run, it offers exclusivity and collectability. In the US, the bike is priced at $19,995, making it an affordable option for those who want a piece of BMW history.

Overall, the BMW R nineT 100 Years edition is a fitting tribute to the iconic boxer engine’s 100th anniversary. It combines the vintage charm of classic BMW motorcycles with modern technology and customization options.
