Rapid Reading: An Exciting Custom Honda Ruckus and Beyond

Two Honda scooters are going head-to-head this week, with one being a custom Honda Ruckus from Australia and the other an electrified Honda Super Cub from Canada. Additionally, a Triumph Street Scrambler 900 from Tamarit Motorcycles and a BMW R5 concept from Roughchild Motorcycles are being showcased.

The custom Honda Ruckus by Ellaspede features a modified frame, fuel tank, and front fairing. The stock engine has been replaced with a 171 cc GY6 mill, resulting in a top speed of around 100 km/h. The Ruckus also has aftermarket wheels, clip-on bars, Brembo calipers, and a Brock’s Performance exhaust. Other modifications include LED lighting, a Koso gauge, and a digital desert camo-patterned seat.

Sally’s Speed-Shop in Canada has converted a Honda C70 Passport Deluxe into an electric Honda Super Cub. The bike features a springer-style front-end, oversized wheels, and a streamlined bodywork made of an epoxy composite. An 8,000 W electric hub motor powers the scooter, and all necessary components are hidden beneath the body’s shell.

Tamarit Motorcycles in Spain has customized a Triumph Street Scrambler 900, making it more off-road capable while retaining its street manners. Upgrades include Öhlins suspension, Beringer brakes, Heidenau K60 Scout tires, and an adaptive LED headlight. Tamarit also installed new yokes, handlebars, levers, and mirrors. The bike features a black, white, and yellow livery, with custom tank badges.

Roughchild Motorcycles, based in Los Angeles, is working on a limited series of custom BMWs inspired by the iconic BMW R5. The design features an exposed drive shaft, fishtail exhausts, Öhlins upside-down forks, and top-shelf disc brakes. The bike will also have a sprung saddle design for added comfort, handmade handlebars with hidden switchgear, and a fuel-injected boxer engine built by Ed Pink Racing.

These four custom scooters and motorcycles showcase the creativity and craftsmanship of their respective builders. Each one offers a unique and personalized riding experience, whether it’s through performance upgrades, electric power, off-road capabilities, or a vintage-inspired design.
